More artings for myself again. Giggle at the ghosties! This scene stands out the most to me from S1 E2. It showed Pinkie Pies character traits shining thru. Some folks tend to groan at her songs, but I enjoy them. And really, did anyone else notice how cute it is when she gets all up in the camera and goes "SOOOOOO!" and goes into the chorus? I did, and I love it. The expression is to die for.
Anyway, this is my interpretation of Twilight's disbelief at Pinkie Pie's bardic powers while the group traveled thru the Everfree Forest. It ended up being a little more cluttered than I prefer, but I stuck with it til the end and am really proud of how it turned out. The background was my fave part to create, but I gotta hand it to Pinkie Pie's hair, it was very fun to render. I like to draw with the approach that it consists of cotton candy, bubble gum and a very talented pink balloon animal.
At first glance, I knew what this was. Giggle at the ghostie! The lighting and shadows are amazing done well. The ponies expressions are hilarious and fit their personalities. I also love how Fluttershy is in the back and is frighted the most. It is just like her. My only complaint is the mane on Twilight and Apple Jack seem a little too foreign. But I could be wrong perhaps you were trying to do something a little more original. Rarity's face and eye also seem to be a little off. Rarity's eyes have a little bit more lashes than the other ponies. Seems to look like some other pony with out them. Other than that, there is nothing to hard to judge to give constructive criticism. Good Work! And continue your art!
The shadowing and lighting is amazing, it all flows with every characters emotions and personality, while the background is dark and the trees have a dark persona to them, rainbow dash has one wing that seems to be out of place, and the lighting does not match that done with Raritie's and Twilight's, she looks much more lit up, which gives the 2nd tree dimension, and pinkie has a sort of aura that seems to expand light and happiness around even though the light is focused on her. That said the background does not match the style of the rest of the piece, as well as the 2nd tree does not have near as much detail as any other character in this, Fluttershy seems to be placed out of the piece on purpose and although fits personality, she does not seem to have been given the consideration and attention to detail as everyone else. Overall this is an extraordinary piece in my amateur eye, and it simply sings to me I love all of the characters, I wish I had the time to learn to draw like this. good job
Wow, I love your style so much! *-* All of the expressions on everypony's faces are perfect and this scene is just so magical, even more so than it was in the actual show. Well done.
You really captured the essence of that scene. I get what you wrote about cotton candy and bubble gum, it really makes sense. But it's not that crowded, really. I mean, from the foreground to background you phased out details and just suggested where clumps of grass were, etc. Anyway, it turned out great and I dig it.
I have to say that of all the fanart I have seen for pinkie pie, this particular song and scene, that your piece by far excels in showing all that went on during it. From Twilight's disbelief to the range of fear and awe of pinkie on the others faces. And I love your use of shadows and light, especially the beam that focuses on pinkie and throws a glow onto the others slightly. COngratulations on a amazing piece of artwork :3
I want this as an enormous print to hang on my wall! I love the colors and lighting.
I've looked at a lot of the art in this fandom but I keep coming back to this one. The scene as Noben depicts it adds a layer of depth to the show that really impresses me. In this work I see the darkness of the forest pressing in against AJ, Flutters, and Rarity while Pinkie tries to show them the truth that fear is only in their minds. (RD and Twi seem to be catching on... or just confused) My favorite part of this piece, and the reason I keep coming back to look at it, is how the light emanates from Pinkie and pushes back the darkness while at the same time holding her in a perfect moment of truth and joy that she is trying to convey to the others.
It's pictures like this that make me think that maybe Pinkie is the wisest of them all.... or maybe I'm just reading too much into it.
